Soon to be Bangkok’s most “Instagramed” place: Chocolate Ville.
I really thought it was some kind of Chocolate factory, but there were no chocolates. Basically it’s just one big themed restaurant. I’d say the biggest restaurant I have ever been to in Bangkok. It’s a compound with a windmill, a lighthouse and little “houses” made to look like a European village complete with a lake and real live ducks. I say European because they seem to be confused with the theme. Some look German, some look Colonial, some straight off English countryside. But nevertheless the place draws hundreds of amateur photographers-slash-diners, from iPhone shooters to mega DSLRs with tripods.
And it really is one big restaurant, serving pastas, pizzas, foie gras, ribs, steaks, Thai and Isaan. The houses act like air-coned dining rooms (I think also available for private parties) and the main “boardwalk” is where all the big family tables are.
We were a bit confused and got there at 1pm hoping it would be another “lifestyle shopping” kinda place so it was empty when we got there. But then we went back again for dinner as the place opens only from 4pm-1am.
If you wanna check it out, it’s on the middle of nowhere part of Kaset Nawamin Road, KM. 11. http://www.facebook.com/chocolateville
